Seminole County Fire Department crews were called to the scene of another vehicle fire on Tuesday, just a week after responding to multiple vehicle fires around the area.
On Tuesday, June 6, SCFD crews responded to reports of an active truck fire on Montgomery Road in Altamonte Springs. According to authorities, there was fuel leaking from the tank onto the roadway.
Upon arrival, crews quickly extinguished the fire and used absorbent booms and pads to keep the fuel from entering nearby storm drains.
The fire follows similar incidents that took place last week.
During the first incident, SCFD crews were called to the scene of a vehicle fire at the Circle K gas station located at 91 State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs, next to Interstate 4.
Later that evening, at around 9:13 p.m., crews responded to another vehicle fire call on Moswood Circle in Winter Springs.
Last year, several vehicle fires sprung up all around the tri-county area, mostly occurring during the summer months. According to the National Fire Protection Association, highway vehicle fires are most common from May through August, peaking in July.
