Missing Haitian Special Olympics athletes

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is looking for six Haitian athletes competing in the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games that have gone missing.

According to the sheriff’s office, authorities are actively investigating a missing person’s case involving six members of the Haitian delegation participating in the games, which are being hosted in Orlando this year.

The athletes range in age from 18 years old to 32 years old. All six are competing in soccer, according to the OCSO release.

The men were all last seen at 710 S. Victory Way in Kissimmee on Monday, June 6 at around 2:30 p.m. All of them turned in their room keys and left behind their personal bags and belongings.

“We are in communication with Walt Disney World, Special Olympics, and our Law Enforcement and Federal partners,” reads a social media release from OCSO.

The sheriff’s office believes the incident is isolated and does not suspect foul play.
