A local high school took home the top prize at this year’s Florida High School 7v7 Association State Tournament.

According to Florida High School Football, the team from Seminole High School beat out nearly 50 other teams to win the 2022 Florida High School 7V7 Association State Tournament.

The event consisted of two days of pool play among the high schools, which are all based in Florida, as well as a single-elimination bracket tournament.

Multiple schools from central Florida competed in this year’s competition, including Orlando’s Bishop Moore High School and two teams from Ocala in Forest High School and Vanguard High School, which both made deep runs.

Vanguard, which has won the last two state tournaments, finished among the final four this year, losing in the semifinals.

Seminole won the championship game against a team from St. Augustine by a score of 24 to 14.
