A Mediterranean brand with locations across nearly two dozen states will look to expand its brand in Central Florida for the first time.
CAVA will replace three former Zoës Kitchens that were located in Orlando, Winter Park, and Winter Springs, completing a transition that first began when the Cava Group merged with Zoës Kitchens in 2018.
CAVA offers a fast casual Mediterranean option wherein diners start with a base of greens, grains, or other options, followed by dips and spreads, and a protein, and finished with a variety of toppings and dressings.
The Orlando location is within the city’s South Downtown (SoDo) district at 236 E Michigan Street, while the Winter Park restaurant is located at 501 N Orlando Avenue, and the Winter Springs restaurant is located at 5930 Red Bug Lake Road.
The first CAVA location was opened in 2006 in Rockville, Maryland by Ted Xenohristos, Ike Grigoropoulos, and Dimitri Moshovitis. Currently, the group operates well over 100 locations across 22 states, with at least a dozen more planned or under transition in Kansas, North Carolina, and Texas, among others.
CAVA joins a long list of restaurants in Orlando that have recently celebrated grand openings, including its neighbor in Orlando’s SoDo district, SoDough Square, which has been serving up Detroit style pizza during a soft opening period over the past several weeks.
That list also includes Wafu, which celebrated its grand opening at the East End Market last week. Wafu features a menu with soft serve ice cream and Japanese waffles accompanied by savory and sweet fillings.
The CAVA restaurants have not yet announced opening dates.
