Skyline Chili is opening its first location in Orlando

Skyline Chili, which opened its first location in Cincinnati over 70 years ago, will expand into Central Florida with its first restaurant in Orlando.

The chili restaurant made the announcement through its social media channels on Tuesday, July 5, that it will expand its operations in the Sunshine State with a new location at the Flamingo Crossings Town Center at Walt Disney World.

“We’re opening a new Skyline Chili near Orlando, Florida. The location is targeting to open by early 2023, so be sure to put Skyline on your vacation itinerary,” reds a post from owners Wendell and Daniel Hunsucker.

Known for serving its namesake in a variety of “ways,” Skyline Chili’s menu features chili in burritos and bowls, on fries and potatoes, and on hot dogs known as Coneys.

The company currently operates dozens of locations across Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, as well as five restaurants in Florida located in Clearwater, Sunrise, Bradenton, Naples, and Fort Myers.

Skyline Chili joins the push by multiple Midwest-based companies to create restaurants in Orlando in recent years.

Just over a year ago, Portillo’s opened its first location in Central Florida at 7715 Palm Parkway. The business has its roots in Illinois and has seen a steady flow of traffic to its new location, which features a large dining room, drive-thru, and outdoor dining patio.

Around the same time, White Castle built its first ever Central Florida location just next door to Portillo’s at 11595 Daryl Carter Parkway. After its first year, the Orlando White Castle location was the top performing across all of the company’s restaurants in the United States.
