A new mural highlighting former leaders in the Parramore community adorns the City View Apartment complex in downtown Orlando.

The new mural, which was previewed earlier this year during an Orlando City Council meeting, stands seven stories tall and includes portraits of “Unsung Heroes” that called the Parramore community home in decades past.

In February, city leaders estimated that the mural would cost approximately $100,000.

The mural features a quote from famed poet Zora Neale Hurston, as well as multiple buildings that comprise the community.

It joins several other public art efforts focused on revitalizing the Parramore community, including the recent addition of Luminary Green Park in the city’s new Creative Village, as well as a new mural on the Electronic Arts building nearby.
