A local political party’s headquarters was vandalized over the weekend.
The Seminole County Democrat Office, which is located at 250 S. Ronald Regan Boulevard in Longwood, was vandalized between Saturday evening and Sunday morning, according to the organization.
Photos shared by the group show that the building’s windows were spray-painted to say “Ur Facists Too,” and “End both parties.”
A banner from the Seminole County Republican Party was also strung up with the words “NAZIS” and “FREE PALESTINE” spray-painted on it. Additionally, the door and lock to the office were glued shut.
“This anti-Democratic, Anti-Semitic attack was reported to the Longwood Police Department. We will stay focused on our candidates and the November 8th election,” reads a social media post from the group.
“SemDems will not tolerate being terrorized, vandalized, or ostracized because of how we pray, how we look, who we love or how we vote,” reads the post.
The vandalism comes exactly three weeks after a similar incident.
During that incident, the windows of the Seminole County Republican Party headquarters, which is located in Casselberry, were also spray-painted with similar language.
In both incidents, the symbol for anarchy was spray-painted beneath the message.
Both incidents take place a month after President Joe Biden labeled Republicans who supported former president Donald Trump as having a philosophy of “semi-fascism.” Weeks of both parties labeling each other accordingly have followed.
Fascism is a centralized form of autocratic government wherein a dictator implements severe regimentation through economic and social control. The movement encourages multiple anti-democratic ideals, including the suppression of opposition, and the promotion of a specific nation or race over an individual.
