Orange County officials are opening multiple shelters across the area in preparation for Hurricane Ian.
On Wednesday, September 28, the following shelters will be open and operational:
Apopka High School – 8 a.m. – The shelter will house the general population and is pet friendly.
Ocoee High School – 12 p.m. – The shelter is open for the general population, with no pets allowed.
Dr. Phillips High School – 12 p.m. – This shelter will also be open for the general population, with no pets allowed.
Oak Ridge High School – 12 p.m. – This shelter will be open to all and will allow pets.
Timber Creek High School – 12 p.m. – The shelter will house the general population and is pet friendly.
The county’s Emergency Operations Center will be fully staffed, according to county officials.
