Construction is underway on a new restaurant that will join a slate of others in Baldwin Park.

Camille is currently under build-out at 4962 New Broad Street in Baldwin Park. The new restaurant replaces Ocean Poke, which occupied the space for over three years before closing up shop earlier this year. According to building records, the new space is 1,818 square feet.

The restaurant is the brainchild of Tung Phan, who has operated a pop-up version of the restaurant with the same name at the East End Market for a little over a year. After growing in popularity, the group turned their sights to the new location in Baldwin Park at the beginning of 2022.

Camille bills itself as taking a modern, refined approach to classic Vietnamese cuisine. The restaurant features a tasting menu designed and prepared by Chef Phan. That menu is presented as a 7-course, seasonal surf and turf offering inspired by Vietnamese ingredients.

Phan hopes to open the new business by the end of the year, according to social media posts.

The restaurant currently accepts prepaid reservations for its East End Market location. Reservations may be made for parties of one to eight, with prices starting at $140 per person.

In recent weeks, the restaurant has released renderings of its new restaurant, which joins an impressive slate of eateries in Baldwin Park, including Seito and The Osprey.
