Iris Rodriguez Torres Irizarry, 85, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, passed away on October 17, 2022. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to parents, Marcial Rodriguez and Eusebia Torres on July 1, 1937 and had 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She was married to Wissell Irizarry on February 29, 1964 then moved to Rochester, New York in 1966 and in 1995 to Central Florida. She was a faithful member of the Forest City Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church and had a tremendous devotion to her faith. Iris loved cooking, spending time with her family and with her fur grandbabies. She had an amazing zest for life and enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, gardening, dancing, sightseeing, dining out, visiting friends, photography and her daily walks. She always left a lasting impression on those who were blessed to cross paths with her and was also dearly loved by her beloved nieces and nephews.
Iris is survived by her two children, Wissell “Jesus” Irizarry, Jr. and Iris M. and her husband, Dale Race; Grandchildren, Jasmine I. Irizarry, Matthew E. Race, Hunter D. Race and Jonathan N. Race; and her great granddaughter, Brook Lyn Medina; Stepgrandchildren, Adora A. Race and Nathaniel T. Race.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24 at 6pm at Forest City Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, 7601 Forest City Road, Orlando, Florida 32810. Viewing will be held at 5pm till time of service also at the church.
