Hungry Pants is a great restaurant in Orlando.
Located at 3421 S. Orange Avenue in Orlando’s South Downtown (SoDo) District, Hungry Pants is the brain-child of Joey Conicella and Alex Marin, who previously owned and operated The Yum Yum Cupcake Truck.
Conicella and Marin created Hungry Pants to provide a “plant-curious” offering to meat-lovers looking to dabble in vegetables and alternative protein sources. The restaurant features whole and balanced food options that still flirt the line with comfort foods.
“Whether you’re a carnivore or an omnivore, or somewhere in between, there will be something for everyone at Hungry Pants,” reads a statement from the company’s website.
The restaurant is decorated with vibrant hues and sleek fixtures, evoking a stylish and modern, yet familiar, vibe.
Hungry Pants features a variety of seasonal dishes made from fresh ingredients daily. The menu is separated into Nibbles (appetizers) Nosh (Soups and Sides), Hungry (Salads and Bowls), and Famished (Sandwiches and Wraps).
Among the many popular dishes are cauli tots, which are crispy cauliflower and sweet potato tots that are served with chipotle ranch, as well as pumpkin toast, which is made with house-made pumpkin spread and pepitas.
The restaurant features salads, bowls, and pasta available in vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free varieties. That includes the shiitake sesame noodz, which are chilled and marinated brown rice noodles prepared with bok choy, marinated shiitake mushrooms, pickled cucumbers, shiitake scallions, and furikake.
For the famished, one of the restaurant’s most popular dishes is its fried chicken sammie, which features panko-breaded organic chicken, arugula, house pickles, tomato, and agave mustard. In addition to the chicken sandwich, the restaurant also offers a cheeseburger made with grass-fed beef, a spicy salmon salad wrap, and a turkey Reuben to satisfy the visiting omnivores.
In addition to a variety of food options, Hungry Pants also features multiple craft beverage options and desserts, including lavender oat milk soda, hibiscus coolers, and cake by the slice. Ice cream from the Greenery Creamery is also available at the restaurant.
