A new Mexican eatery will join the downtown Orlando restaurant scene in the coming weeks.

Solita Tacos & Margaritas is nearing completion on its new location at 222 S Orange Avenue suite 100, replacing the former Wahlburger’s that closed down amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in the summer of 2020.

The restaurant hopes to be open in the first few weeks of November, according to company officials.

Solita’s menu is extensive and features classic Mexican dishes in large supply. That includes antojitos (appetizers) like elotes (grilled corn), taquitos, guacamole, and queso al forno, among many others.

As their name suggests, the restaurant has an extensive taco offering, served ala carte or in plates. Tacos come in a variety of proteins and feature a wide array of toppings.

In addition to steak and chicken, the restaurant features multiple types of meat and seafood for their dishes. Those include pork belly, spicy shrimp, chipotle, smoked pork rib tips, and pan-seared wild fish, among others.

In addition to tacos, the restaurant offers burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and multiple specials.

The Orlando location will be the first for Solita, which currently operates three locations in California and one in Chicago. An additional location is under construction in Anaheim, California.

Solita’s new restaurant in downtown Orlando joins two other taco spots that have opened in recent months nearby. Tacos My Guey, located on Orange Avenue, opened its doors in August and Taco Kat opened its new restaurant in the former Cleo’s Lounge in mid-October.

Solita is currently hosting a hiring event from Wednesday through Friday, October 28, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, October 29 until 3 p.m.
