A popular California-based Mexican restaurant has opened its first location in Florida in downtown Orlando.
Solita Tacos & Margaritas officially opened its doors at 222 S Orange Avenue on Monday, December 12, replacing the former home of Wahlburger’s, which closed in June 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
As it’s namesake suggests, the restaurant has an extensive taco and margarita offering. Street taco plates come with a variety of proteins, including wood-grilled ancho chile chicken, carne asada, beer-battered shrimp, and carnitas, among many others.
In addition to tacos, the menu features a variety of other classic Mexican dishes, including antojitos (appetizers) like elotes (grilled corn), taquitos, guacamole, and queso al forno, as well as burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and a variety of specials.
The restaurant features a full bar, with happy hour, Taco Tuesday, and weekend brunch specials. Margaritas come with one of over two dozen different types of tequila, and the restaurant offers a variety of cocktails, beers, wines, and beer cocktails.
The Orlando location marks the first for Solita in the southeast, joining multiple other operations in California and in Chicago. An additional location is under construction in Anaheim, California, according to the company’s website.
The restaurant joins a collection of others that have opened in downtown Orlando this year. That growing list includes Taco Kat, which opened its doors in October, and Tacos My Guey, which opened in August.
Solita Tacos & Margaritas is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
