Three Orlando area restaurants made Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in the United States this year, including one that ranked in the top 10 and another that received a Michelin star last year.
Celebrating its tenth year, the 2023 list of top places features two repeat Orlando area restaurants that were ranked among the top 100 Florida restaurants by Yelp last year. It also features a new addition located along Orange Avenue.
The highest ranked of the three was Selam Ethiopian and Eritrean Cuisine, which came in 9th place. Located in the Williamsburg Downs Shopping Center at 5494 Central Florida Parkway, just east of SeaWorld Orlando, Selam was previously ranked second on Yelp’s top 100 restaurants in Florida for 2022. The restaurant serves authentic Ethiopian food and drinks including gored gored, kitfo, and tibs, which is a cross between stir fry and stew.
Another familiar entrant on the list was Kadence, an Omakase-style restaurant that was awarded a Michelin star in June 2022. Owned by Mark and Jennifer Berdin, the Japaense restaurant features a multi-course chef’s tasting.
The nondescript restaurant is located at 1809 Winter Park Road, next door to ABC Liquor and Flower No. 5.
Rounding out the list of Orlando-based restaurants was Hungry Pants, which ranked number 42 on the list. Hungry Pants was founded in 2019 by Joey Conicella and Alex Marin, who previously owned and operated The Yum Yum Cupcake Truck.
Hungry Pants features a variety of seasonal dishes made from fresh ingredients daily, with salads, bowls, and pasta available in vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free varieties.
Last year, nine restaurants in and around Orlando were recognized in Yelp’s top 100 restaurants in Florida.
