A man was struck and killed on Monday afternoon as he was attempting to cross Curry Ford Road.
The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Curry Ford Road and Palm Creek Avenue on Monday, March 6, at around 5:02 p.m.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 40-year-old Orlando man was driving a 2012 Toyota Camry westbound on Curry Ford Road, approaching Palm Creek Avenue in the inside lane.
The pedestrian entered the westbound lanes, walking in a southerly direction on Curry Ford Road. The pedestrian, who was not in a marked crosswalk, entered the direct path of the Camry and was struck as a result.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash.
The medical examiner’s office has not yet positively identified the pedestrian.
