Elizabeth (Betty) Barber, 92, of Kissimmee, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023. She was born in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and moved to Kissimmee in 1953.

She was a secretary for the State Road Department, where she retired, and later managed Fashion One-Hour Cleaners for many years. She was pre-deceased by her husband W. J. Barber, member of an Osceola County pioneer family and her four siblings.

Survivors include three daughters, Toni (Richard), Debbie (Steve) and Judi; son Michael; and stepson Joe as well as 5 grandchildren, Seth (Ashley), Michael II (Monica), Tracy (Terry), Summer (Bryce) and Charlene (John) and 8 great-grandchildren: (Chelsey, Trinity, Kendra, Michael III, Gideon, Ezra, Malachi and Iyla and 2 more on the way! as well as a niece (Ava).

She enjoyed her vegetable garden (canning the best homemade bread ‘n butter pickles!) and grew beautiful roses and amaryllis bulbs. She won many blue ribbons at the Rodeo Fairgrounds for her hand-crocheted afghans, always making a baby afghan for the newborns in the family. She was an excellent cook.

Even at her age, her handwriting was beautiful, she balanced her checkbook to the penny every month and she could recite her checking account number by memory, if needed. She was such a special Mom that she made each of her children feel as though they were her “favorite”.
May angels guide her to her heavenly home. We will miss her forever.
