A 50-year-old man driving a Hummer was arrested after he was seen by a police officer plowing into the back of an SUV stopped at a light, making a U-turn, and fleeing the scene.

The incident took place at the intersection of John Young Parkway and The Oaks Boulevard, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 2008 Hummer H2 was being driven by Armando Juarez of Poinciana northbound along John Young Parkway at around 5:38 a.m. this morning.

As the vehicle approached a light, just south of The Oaks Boulevard, he failed to stop for another vehicle that was stopped for traffic. As a result, his Hummer crashed into the back of a 2021 Toyota Rav4 being driven by a 54-year-old Kissimmee woman.

The Rav4 was then propelled forward into the back of a 2015 Nissan Rogue being driven by a 67-year-old Poinciana woman.

After the accident, Juarez allegedly made a U-turn and fled the scene, traveling southbound on John Young Parkway. An Osceola County Sheriff’s deputy observed the vehicle fleeing the scene and conducted a traffic stop a short time thereafter. After pulling the Hummer over, the deputy noticed damage consistent with the collision.
