A patio bar located across the street from the Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola is gearing up to serve its last drink.
B Nice Orlando will officially close its location at 151 E Washington Street in downtown Orlando on Sunday, May 28.
Known for its Open Mic nights and tight quarters, the bar occupied its corner location for over five years and was situated next door to Eola Hair Salon, opened its doors just last year.
B Nice joins over a dozen and a half closures of cafés, restaurants, and bars in downtown Orlando over the past year.
Last month, both Harry Buffalo and Le Gourmet Break officially closed down their locations. Both businesses had been in operation for over a decade. In March, Walgreens closed its downtown Orlando location after a multi-year run.
Lizzy McCormack’s closed its bar last summer after 18 years on Orange Avenue, citing “illogical” costs of maintaining a bar in the area. Similarly, Barbarella closed its doors last February after a 37-year run at its downtown Orlando location.
Finnhenry’s, which operated for more than a dozen years on Orange Avenue, was replaced last year by Parlay’s after closing up shop.
Last year, Earth Fare closed its sole grocery store location in Orlando in downtown, and Latitudes closed its doors after more than 23 years on Church Street.
Despite the growing list of business closures in downtown Orlando, the Central Business District has also seen a steady flow of new businesses opening.
That includes Stemma Craft Coffee, Double O’s Coffee, and City Arts Café, which all opened coffee shops in the past year. It also includes Tacos My Guey, Taco Kat, and Solita, which have all opened new taco restaurants within a few blocks of each other. Birria1983 will soon join that list as well.
In addition to the restaurants and cafes that have opened, multiple new bars have celebrated openings as well, including Parlay, Bellhop, High Tide, High-T, Fixtion, Game Room and Social Club, Pups Pub and Proper. All of those businesses opened downtown locations in the past year.
