Edwin Rodriguez,

Edwin Rodriguez, 67, was peacefully called home to join Jesus on June 5, 2023. Born in the Lower East Side of New York City on May 15, 1956, he was the beloved son of Rosaura and Luis Rodriguez, and the cherished youngest sibling to three older brothers. Edwin chose to follow in his brother Charlie’s footsteps, and forged a career as a skilled printer. In 1983 he married his beautiful wife Anita and in the years that followed, they became the proud parents of their two sons, Jon and Daniel. After residing in Queens, NY for many years, Edwin eventually relocated to sunny Florida in the 1980s.

Edwin was a true comedian, and had a way of bringing life into every gathering. A man with a wealth of stories, his magnetic charisma and unmistakable warm and robust laughter never failed to uplift spirits. It was this gift that allowed him to turn even the most ordinary moments into cherished memories. He led a colorful life, marked by pure joy and contagious laughter. His kind, squinting eyes and big smile will be truly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his quick wit, Edwin possessed a keen attention to detail that humorously manifested itself in his borderline obsessive-compulsive care for his pristine lawn and perfectly pruned trees. You’d be hard-pressed to find a man with more pride than Edwin when it came to his immaculately decorated Christmas tree, every bauble and light meticulously arranged with near-surgical precision. He also possessed a keen eye for photography, capturing stunning memories worthy of gracing a magazine cover.

The defining moment of Edwin’s life came early in the 2000’s when he wholly surrendered himself to Jesus and was baptized. His beautiful, soulful voice graced the Faith Assembly church choir, where he also took pleasure in attending men’s bible study. Edwin was a God-fearing man who was sensitive to His Spirit and embodied the nature of Christ.

Because of his personal decision to follow Jesus, we are confident that Edwin has now reunited with his father and two brothers in Heaven, leaving behind his wife Ana, his sons Daniel and Jon, his mother Rosaura, his brother Orlando, and a host of treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, as well as his adored dog, Yuki.
