Jerome Scott, 61, of Orlando, departed this life on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Jerome, a lifelong resident of Orlando, was born on April 11, 1962 to the late Lizzie Mae and Roosevelt Scott.
Jerome attended Jones High School and soon entered the workforce. He was employed as a chef for several years at IHOP Restaurant. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed and cherished by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Veronica Brown-Scott; siblings, Mae Doris Bates, Jeannette Bagley, Tyrone (Sonya) Scott, Willie Lewis, Sharon (Henry) Volley, Penny Scott, Michael Scott, Latoya Scott, Keisha Scott, Cynthia Freeze, Cheryl Freeze, Keisha Freeze; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a host of other relatives, church family, and numerous friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the mortuary.
A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1968 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando with Minister Warren Range, officiating.
Interment will be at the Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
