A 54-year-old Kissimmee man who was found with child sex dolls and 2 terabytes depicting over 1,000,000 files of child pornography, will spend over 15 years in prison.
Edward Nicholas Carney was sentenced to 15 years and 8 months in federal prison this week for his role in receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. Carney pled guilty this past June.
According to court records, Carney shared hundreds of depictions of child sexual abuse material using an unnamed social media platform.
During the execution of a search warrant at Carney’s home, law enforcement authorities recovered more than one million depictions of child sexual abuse material on more than 50 electronic devices in Carney’s possession. Carney had “screen savers” displaying child sexual abuse on his computers and, upon his arrest, he asked Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez if he’d ever “had any curiosity about something.”
While search his home, authorities discovered that Carney was in possession of multiple child-like sex dolls in his residence. They also discovered an abundance of computer monitors that were set up to display child sexual acts.
Carney had been facing 10 counts of possession of photos depicting child sexual performance, as well as three counts of possession of child-like sex dolls.
As of the date of his sentencing, authorities say that 137 known series of child sex abuse and over 2 terabytes of child pornography have been recovered from his devices.
