SeaWorld Orlando just announced plans for a new, penguin-themed roller coaster that will take riders through the “vastness of Antartica.”
On Thursday, SeaWorld Orlando announced the addition of Penguin Trek, a new “family launch coaster.”
According to the park, Penguin Trek is a “family launch coaster” that will take riders on a snowmobile race through the southern-most continent.
The ride will travel at “up to 43 miles per hour” while navigating turns and “escaping the crumbling hazards of an icy cavern.”
“Reach the end and you’ll make the ultimate discovery: A Real penguin habitat” reads a statement from the park, which is located at 7007 Sea World Drive in Orlando.
The ride is both indoor and outdoor and will have a height requirement of 42 inches.
The parks says the ride will open in “2024,” but did not specify further.
The roller coaster joins two other roller coasters that have opened at SeaWorld Orlando since last year: Pipeline, a surf-style roller coaster that opened in May, and Ice Breaker, a steel roller coaster that opened in February 2022.
Turi’s Kid Cove, which is a water attraction, opened at Aquatica just a couple weeks before Pipeline this past May.
