A juvenile who was participating in a Pop Warner Football practice has been arrested for allegedly firing a gun and injuring two other players with whom he had been arguing.
Apopka Police Department officers were called to the Northwest Recreation Complex football field at around 8:20 p.m. on Monday, October 2 in reference to a shooting.
Officers arrived a few minutes later to find two juvenile victims who were suffering from gun shot wounds.
During the ensuing investigation, authorities determined that three juveniles had been participating in Pop Warner Football practice when they became engaged in an altercation. At one point, one of the juveniles allegedly went to a vehicle and retrieved a firearm.
That juvenile then returned to the others and fired one shot, striking the other two juveniles in the parking lot.
The victims were transported to area hospitals and were listed in stable condition as of Monday evening.
The shooter, who was not named by authorities, has been detained and taken into custody.
On Tuesday morning, APD officials confirmed that the individual had been charged and that more information on those charges would be provided later today.
