A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting that claimed the life of a 22-year-old mother and left three other individuals injured.
On Tuesday, October 3, Orlando Police Department officers arrested 18-year-old Gary Lee Williams III in connection with a fatal shooting that took place last month at the Jernigan Gardens Apartments (1440 Mercy Drive).
Orlando Police Department officers responded to the shooting on September 22 at around 2:34 p.m. after receiving reports regarding a large group of people fighting with shots fired. Upon arrival, police located three individuals who had been struck by gunfire and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A fourth victim of the shooting, Macayla Queen Patterson, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
On the day of the shooting, police took 23-year-old Delray Shundale Duncan into custody on charges of attempted homicide and first degree felony murder.
Williams, who was apprehended by the OPD Fugitive Investigative Unit, is charged with first degree murder with a firearm.
Delray Shundale Duncan was arrested within hours of a shooting that took place on Mercy Drive on Friday, according to a statement issued by the Orlando Police Department.
Patterson, who went by the nickname “Ruby K’ior,” was an entrepreneur, hair stylist and licensed cosmetologist who owned Kiorsko, LLC. She was the mother of two young boys.
