A restaurant in the Oviedo Mall food court was forced to temporarily close for a day after failing its third health inspection in the past two months.
Teque Tata, which is located at 1610 Oviedo Mall Blvd, was forced to temporarily close on Tuesday, October 10, after it was cited for at least five health code violations.
According to a report filed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, during the inspector’s visit, at least nine live roaches were found around the business. Additionally, at least 13 dead roaches were found below various pieces of equipment at the business.
The business was further cited for not providing a sanitizer of any kind for “warewashing.” Employees told the inspector that they were using vinegar borrowed from a neighboring food court restaurant as a sanitizer.
The restaurant was reinspected the following day and was permitted to reopen after no violations were cited.
The closure comes exactly two months after the restaurant was closed for similar reasons.
Teque Tata was forced to close on Thursday, August 10, and Friday, August 11, after the restaurant was cited for 11 health code violations, including the presence of roaches, as evidenced by three dozen roaches found all around the facility.
At the time, Teque Tata was permitted to reopen after a third inspection was conducted over the two-day period. During the third inspection, only four violations were cited.
