Emergency crews were called to the scene of a plane crash on Friday after receiving reports that an aircraft had run off a runway.
At least nine units from the Sanford Airport Fire Department responded to the incident on Friday, November 10.
According to authorities, a Cessna 172 ran off the runway with multiple occupants inside. No details were provided regarding whether the aircraft was landing or departing.
Responding units worked to provide immediate assistance and mitigated hazards at the scene.
The fire department says that the pilots involved in the crash are “expected to make a full recovery.” The extent of their injuries was not provided by authorities, nor was the number of occupants in the aircraft at the time of the incident.
