A suspect was apprehended in a local neighborhood after Belle Isle police were called to the scene while he was in the middle of burglarizing vehicles.
According to the Belle Isle Police Department, on Saturday, November 18, at around 1:53 a.m., officers responded to a neighborhood in reference to a complaint about a man pulling on vehicle door handles and breaking into vehicles.
Upon arrival, police made contact with Felix Alberto Lopez, 43, who was seen walking around in the area.
During their investigation, police reviewed surveillance video from multiple nearby residences that showed Lopez unsuccessfully attempting to enter vehicles.
In the video, Lopez is seen walking from home to home, attempting to enter locked vehicles and entering unlocked vehicles.
After reviewing the videos, police arrested Lopez and charged him with five counts of burglary of a conveyance. He is being held at the Orange County Jail on $4,100.
