A 29-year-old man from Apopka will spend the next 16 years behind bars for recording himself sexually assaulting a child victim who was sleeping.
Stephon K’Trell Anderson was sentenced this week by United States District Judge Wendy Berger to 16 years in federal prison for producing a video of child sexual abuse.
Anderson pled guilty to the charge on September 13, 2023.
According to court records, the investigation into Anderson began after the Apopka Police Department received a cyber tipline report that originated from X (formerly Twitter).
The reported X account was identified as uploading a video of child sexual abuse material.
On March 10, 2023, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Apopka Police Department tracked down the address of the X user and executed a search warrant at a residence in Apopka.
During an ensuing forensic examination of two cell phones belonging to Anderson, FBI agents located videos that Anderson had recorded involving a child victim.
Anderson recorded the videos using his cellphone over a period of multiple weeks, according to authorities.
In one of the videos, Anderson could be seen engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a child victim while the victim was sleeping.
As part of his sentence, Anderson was also ordered to serve a 10-year term of supervised release. He must also register as a sex offender.
