The former Amway Center was renamed the Kia Center on Wednesday morning, ending a partnership with the multi-level marketing company that began over a decade ago.
The name change was made official on Wednesday, December 20, according to a statement issued by the Orlando Magic.
“The Orlando Magic and Kia America have been proud partners for several years and we share in the excitement of Kia’s success and growth,” said Alex Martins, CEO of the Magic.
In addition to the name change, the partnership will include new indoor and outdoor signage, installations of branded electric vehicle charging stations, and Kia vehicle displays.
Additionally, the center will feature a Kia Terrace hospitality lounge for automotive enthusiasts, sports, and music fans.
“This facility is a spectacular asset for those who call Central Florida home and for those who visit this global tourist destination. Coupled with our naming rights of the Kia Forum in California, we now stretch from coast to coast,” said Sean Yoon, President and CEO of Kia America.
The Kia Center was opened in October 2010 after two years of construction. The venue has played host to hundreds of concerts and shows over the years, and is the full-time home of the Orlando Magic.
