A 34-year-old Winter Park man has been accused of downloading and possessing multiple images and videos depicting child pornography.
Kevin Scott Thompson was indicted on three counts of receiving child sexual abuse material over the internet and one count of possession of child sexual abuse material.
According to a statement issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, law enforcement authorities began investigating Thompson’s activities after he allegedly downloaded files depicting child pornography through a file sharing program.
During an examination of Thompson’s phone, investigators allegedly discovered images and videos depicting child pornography, with some of the content featuring victims under the age of 12.
If convicted, Thompson will receive a minimum mandatory sentence of five years, and up to 20 years, in federal prison for each of the three receiving charges, and up to 20 years for the possession charge.
