Nelson Guillermo Franjul, passed away on January 16, 2024 in his hometown of Winter Garden, Florida.

He and his wife Jessica, and their 8-year-old daughter Emma, formed a tiny family warmly embraced by parents, siblings, and a large extended family consisting of cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends. Nelson was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and a love of great conversations that could go well into the night, but above all, he was known and loved as an excellent father. Family meant the world to Nelson. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, give great advice, and was there when you needed him. Devoted, kind, funny, and very doting, his legacy will not be forgotten.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Nelson came to Boston, Massachusetts, as a teenager and with the sheer force of will and unwavering perseverance that became the defining trademarks of his character. He proudly graduated with a bachelor’s and MBA degree from Curry College. He furthered his career in finance through excellence and dedication, becoming a dedicated and successful business intelligence developer.

Anyone who knew Nelson or even met him instantly saw the intelligence that seemed to almost flow out of him effortlessly. His ability to learn and excel at anything he pursued was impressive, yet he was always eager and quick to share his knowledge. He was always excited to ‘never stop learning’ and delighted in imparting all his wisdom to his young daughter. Nelson dreamed big and was brave enough to put those dreams into action. He believed in the power of hard work and was deeply admired by those around him for how he fearlessly went after every one of his dreams, becoming an example to many, especially his family.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m., with Pastor Chris Ogden, officiating, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Winter Oak Funeral Home, 1132 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL 34787.
