The Orlando Police Department has identified the two men who were injured during a shooting incident that occurred in downtown Orlando on Friday night.

At around 8:15 p.m. on Friday, March 15, OPD officers responded to the Corona Cigar Company located at 127 S Orange Avenue in reference to shots being fired in the area.

When officers arrived, they located a man, later identified as 62-year-old Rudolph Johnson, who had sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

According to OPD, an investigation revealed that Johnson and an armed security guard had gotten into a physical altercation at the incident location. During that altercation, the security guard discharged a firearm, wounding Johnson.

Orlando police have identified the security guard as 26-year-old Ramon Fernandez Junior. He sustained “non-lethal” injuries during the incident, and he was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is active and ongoing, according to the Orlando Police Department.
