John Dennis Gorman died peacefully on March 13th 2024 at the age of 86.
He is survived by his loving wife Audrey Gorman, with whom he was happily married for 43 years. John is survived by his son Kevin Gorman and his wife Mercy , his daughter Julie Steere, and her husband Rik and John and Audrey’s grandchildren Jessalyn, Skye and Summer. He is also survived by his living brother Jimmy Gorman and his wife Ameila, and his sister-in-law Leta Gorman. John also had many cousins and nieces and nephews across the country.
Mr. Gorman was born December 2nd 1937 in Montgomery Alabama to Mr. & Mrs. Francis Gorman. John attended Alabama University and Huntington College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in physics. ROLL TIDE! John then proudly served as Lieutenant in the Navy from 1961-1972.
John and the love of his life Audrey, moved to Florida in 1979, where John began his career in software sales at Kirchman Corporation. After several successful years, he joined Credit Card Software Inc, where he would eventually retire in 2001. John was a recognized successful salesman, who left an impression on all those with whom he worked and the teams he made.
John enjoyed the outdoors, including tennis, golfing and fishing, but most of all loved being with his family. John touched countless lives, with his sense humor, his smile that lit up a room, his southern charm, and his hugs that made you feel welcomed from wherever and whomever you were. Whether it was the passion he had for politics (MAGA) or the generosity he shared, John’s memory will live on through the memories shared by loved ones and the legacy he leaves behind.
John will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA at a later date, where he will be honored, and the family will officiate a private ceremony.
