The City of Ocoee has a new police chief.

On Wednesday, the Ocoee Police Department stated that it is proud to announce the appointment of Chief Vincent L. Ogburn, Sr.

Chief Ogburn’s law enforcement career began in 1991 as a state trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol. Over the next five years, he served Orange and Osceola counties while with FHP.

In 1996, Ogburn was hired by the Orlando Police Department. He eventually rose through the ranks, serving as a Deputy Chief.

During his tenure with the Orlando Police Department, Ogburn served the local community in the Patrol and Special Operations Divisions. He also served as a Public Information Officer and the Police Chief’s Staff Director.

In 2020, Ogburn joined the Ocoee Police Department, and he has led the agency while serving as Deputy Chief of Operations.

In addition to his lengthy law enforcement career, Ogburn is also a veteran of the United States Navy.
