The Orlando Police Department has identified the bicyclist who was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Semoran Boulevard on Saturday, June 15.  

According to OPD, the man was riding a bicycle on South Semoran Boulevard, near the intersection of Pershing Avenue, when he was struck by a white sedan at around 11:15 p.m.

The bicyclist has been identified by Orlando police as 35-year-old Charles Avery Murphy.

The sedan that struck Murphy fled the scene of the accident and was last seen near Curry Ford Road. The police department stated that the vehicle likely has a damaged front bumper and windshield.

In a media release on Thursday, June 20, OPD released two short video clips showing the white sedan that was allegedly involved in the hit-and-run crash.

The first video clip shows the white sedan traveling through the intersection of S Semoran Boulevard and Lake Margaret Drive at 11:11 p.m. on June 15, 2024.

The second video clip shows the white sedan traveling past the Sedano’s Supermarket located near the intersection of Curry Ford Road and S Semoran Boulevard at 11:19 p.m. on June 15, 2024.

No further details were released by Orlando police.
