An Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested on Wednesday morning for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to OCSO, one of its deputies, Thomas Boggs, was arrested by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office on DUI charges.

Boggs was hired by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in May of 2015, and he worked in the Uniform Patrol Division. Following his arrest, he has been relieved of all law enforcement duties and reassigned to administrative duties while an investigation is conducted.

“Once the criminal case is complete, OCSO will conduct its own internal investigation and when completed, it will be made public,” stated the sheriff’s office in a media release on Wednesday afternoon.

No further details were released by OCSO.

“As law enforcement officers, we must be held to the highest standards of conduct whether on duty or off duty,” said Orange County Sheriff John Mina. “I am committed to ensuring that those who serve the community as Orange County deputies follow the laws that they are responsible to uphold.”

Earlier this year, on May 16, an Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested and charged with felony grand theft ($5,000 or more) and scheme to defraud in connection with the falsification of time sheets.

Two weeks later, a second OCSO deputy was arrested for allegedly stealing over $10,000 after time sheets were falsified.
