A woman was shot and killed by her fiancé in Orlando over the weekend in an apparent murder-suicide.

Shortly after 12:05 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 9100 block of Waverly Walk Drive in Orlando after receiving reports of shots being fired, according to the sheriff’s office.

Upon arrival, deputies found a man and woman who had both been shot. OCSO stated that the man’s gunshot wound appeared to be self-inflicted.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was later identified as 34-year-old Huong Ngoc Hoa.

The man, later identified as 32-year-old Hung S. Song, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

In an update on Monday, July 22, OCSO stated that the suspect in this case, Song, died from his injuries at the hospital.

According to the sheriff’s office, an investigation revealed that the incident was a “murder-suicide in which Hung S. Song shot Huong Ngoc Hoa and then shot himself.”

Song and Hoa were engaged to be married at the time of the fatal shooting.
