A 20-year-old Orlando man is facing up to life in prison after pleading guilty to fentanyl distribution and firearm possession charges.

On Wednesday, July 24, U.S. Attorney Roger B. Handberg announced that Sebastian Gabriel Lugo-Lugo has pleaded guilty to distribution of fentanyl and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

According to the plea agreement, Lugo-Lugo sold counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl to an undercover agent multiple times between November 2023 and February 2024. During some of those transactions, while Lugo-Lugo was inside his vehicle, the agent observed a handgun next to him.

In addition, on February 14, 2024, Lugo-Lugo sold the undercover agent a Ruger 9mm handgun and 50 fentanyl pills.

Lugo-Lugo faces a minimum mandatory sentence of five years, up to life, in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Seminole County Sheriff’s Office City-County Investigative Bureau, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Megan Testerman.

Additionally, this case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, which is a program that brings together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence.

Earlier this week, an Orlando man who sold more than 200 grams of fentanyl to an undercover agent pleaded guilty to fentanyl distribution charges.
