An investigation is underway after a woman’s deceased body was found inside a burning car on Tuesday afternoon in the Dr. Phillips area.

At around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday August 20, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the intersection of Lake Marsha Drive and Glasgow Avenue in Orange County in reference to a vehicle fire, according to OCSO.

Upon arrival, deputies found a woman in her 30s who was unresponsive inside a vehicle that was engulfed in flames.

Orange County Fire Rescue crew members were also dispatched to the area to assist with combating the fire.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene by firefighters.

The State Fire Marshal’s office is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the vehicle fire.

No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office.
