Driver killed after SUV overturns into ditch

A woman was killed on Saturday night after her SUV overturned into a ditch in Osceola County.

The fatal accident occurred at around 11:25 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, near the intersection of N Canoe Creek Road and Sunset Ranch Road.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 47-year-old woman from Kenansville was traveling southbound on Canoe Creek Road, north of the Sunset Ranch Road intersection, when she lost control of her SUV.

FHP stated that the SUV veered off the roadway to the right. Moments later, the vehicle rotated before overturning into a ditch, where it came to a final rest.

The driver and sole occupant of the SUV sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her name was not released by FHP.

A trooper noted in the report that the single-vehicle accident remains under investigation.
