Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) State Trooper Car

A 25-year-old Kissimmee woman was killed early Tuesday morning after her car struck a parked vehicle in a construction zone on Interstate 4 in Orange County.

The fatal crash occurred on I-4, near mile marker 72, at around 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The report stated that the woman was traveling from Sand Lake Road through an active construction lane closure in a 2024 Hyundai Elantra when she failed to see an unoccupied Ford F-750 truck that was parked in the area.

An FHP trooper noted that the truck was facing south on I-4 westbound at mile marker 72.

The front of the woman’s car proceeded to collide with the left rear section of the truck. After the initial impact, the car rotated in a clockwise direction before striking the left side of the truck.

The woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, and she was partially ejected from her vehicle. She sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the report.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the fatal crash.
