It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of, Donald Lewis O’ Dell, 80, of Venice, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Chuluota, after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife by his side till the end.
Don was born, June 19, 1944 in Wichita, KS, he was the son of Frank and Betty O’ Dell.

Once a marine, always a marine. Don enlisted into the United States Marine Corps from 1965-1968 and spent two tours in Vietnam, then transferred to Camp Pendleton, CA as an instructor in the weapons training battalion.

After the Marines, he enrolled into University of Missouri and earned a Bachelors in Economics, 1972, then completed his Juris Doctorate, 1976. Don worked as an attorney for over 40 years in the State of Florida prior to finally “semi-retiring”. He was intelligent, dedicated, and hard working.

He had a love of reading, Sunday crossword puzzles, boating, traveling with his family, jokes, Nascar races, Florida football, and always a good drink. He loved the simple things in life, such as Thursday night date nights. with his wife at the Jetty watching the sunset, and loved his family with a passion that will never be matched. He was humorous, sweet, kind, and devoted as a husband, a father, and a grandfather.

Remaining to cherish Don’s memory are his beloved wife, Stephanie; his three children, Scott (Jessica), Tyler, and Brandi (Solve); his three grandchildren, Willow (Scott), Hayden and Grayson (Brandi); His two sisters, Debbie and Liz; his niece Courtney and nephews, Jeff, Joe, and Brett, and the rest of his loving family and friends.

Upon arriving into Heaven, he was greeted by his parents, Frank and Betty O’ Dell.

A funeral will be held on October 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, located at 2021 W State Rd 426 in Oviedo.
