A 41-year-old Kissimmee man died early Saturday morning after his SUV struck a light pole and overturned on Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando.

The fatal accident took place at around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, near the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Taft Vineland Road.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the Kissimmee man was traveling northbound on Orange Blossom Trail, south of the Taft Vineland Road intersection, when his SUV left the inside lane and collided with the concrete center median.

FHP stated that the man “overcorrected to the right,” which caused his SUV to veer off the roadway. Moments later, the vehicle hit a curb before striking a light pole and overturning onto its roof.

The man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. In the report, a trooper noted that the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The single-vehicle crash is currently being investigated, according to FHP.
