Claire Elizabeth Windes “Mammie” 91, from Altamonte Springs, Florida passed away on November 08, 2024. Claire was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 17, 1933, to the late Arthur & Rhea Fisher.
Claire is survived by six of her children; her sons Dan, Jim, and Steve; and her daughters Lynne Henyecz & husband Larry, Anne McLaurin & husband John, and Suzanne Grace & husband Phil. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Hacker, her nine grandsons; Patrick, Bobby, Ben, Jay, Ryan, Kevin, Jake, Jack, and Guy; and her four granddaughters; Heidi, Alyssa, Katie, and Anna. Also, her four great granddaughters; Kelseigh, Leisl, Claire, and Etta.
She is preceded in death by her husband Gerard “Jerry”, her three sons: Gary, Tim, Greg and her brother Jim Fisher.
Claire loved being a mother and grandmother, she was happiest holding a newborn baby. As a mother, Claire’s life was centered around her children. She nurtured and cared for them with an unshakeable devotion, always putting their needs above her own. Her home was a place of laughter, comfort, and unconditional love—a testament to the strength and grace with which she lived her life.
An active and faithful member of St. Mary Magdalen Church for over 50 years, Claire gave generously of her time and energy, serving in numerous roles. Her commitment to her church family was a reflection of her deep love for God and her desire to spread kindness and compassion to others.
Claire’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed but will remain in our hearts always.
A funeral service will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with a reception to follow. Please check back for service date and time.
