A house fire in downtown Orlando sent two people, including a local firefighter, to the hospital on Monday evening.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on Monday, December 2, Orlando Fire Department units responded to the 200 block of East Amelia Street in reference to a residential structure fire.

Upon arrival at the two-story home, OFD crews immediately sprang into action and extinguished the flames.

One person was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A firefighter also sustained injuries at the scene and was taken to a local hospital.

The Orlando Fire Department’s Arson/Bomb Squad is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
