A 30-year-old Casselberry man is facing up to life in prison after a federal jury found him guilty of enticing a 14-year-old girl to have sex with him and producing child sexual abuse material.
On Thursday, December 12, Jordan Franklin Trexler was convicted of enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity and two counts of production of child sexual abuse material.
According to testimony and evidence presented at trial, Trexler groomed the victim to engage in sex when she was 14 years old. Trexler initially reached out to her via social media and offered her marijuana.
After meeting in person, Trexler got the victim “heavily intoxicated” and then sexually abused her.
Over a period spanning approximately two weeks, Trexler and the victim exchanged numerous messages on social media that discussed their plans to meet. In those messages, Trexler described sexual acts that he wanted to perform with the victim.
During that two-week span, Trexler met with the victim nearly every night to have sex. He recorded video footage during one of those sexual encounters, which showed him sexually abusing the victim.
In addition, an image was found in Trexler’s possession that showed the victim “asleep and partially nude in his car.”
Trexler faces a maximum penalty of life in federal prison. His sentencing hearing is scheduled to take place on March 12, 2025.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Tampa Division – Orlando Resident Agency, Oviedo Police Department, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kaley Austin-Aronson and Stephanie McNeff.
Additionally, this case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
