Seminole County firefighters rescued several dogs on Saturday morning while battling a house fire in Oviedo.
On Saturday, January 4, multiple Seminole County Fire Department units responded to a neighborhood in Oviedo after receiving reports of a residential structure fire.
When the firefighters arrived on scene, they observed smoke and flames rising from the home.
Due to the rural location of the residence, there were no fire hydrants nearby for SCFD crews to utilize. As a result, SCFD stated that firefighters established a “water shuttle,” which supplied water to the crew members who were battling the blaze.
The flames were soon extinguished by firefighters.
According to SCFD, the home’s occupants were not inside the residence at the time of the fire. However, during a search of the property, firefighters located and rescued several dogs.
There were no injuries reported.
The State Fire Marshal’s office is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, according to SCFD.
