A new upscale bar and restaurant serving crack cocktails and Asian tapas has opened its doors in Orlando’s Mills 50 District.
The Moderne officially opened its doors for a soft opening beginning in mid-December. The restaurant is planning to reopen on Tuesday, January 3, after a two-week run to assess and test out the facility.
Located in the Mills 50 District, the new spot bills itself as a contemporary cocktail bar focusing on “deconstructing and rebuilding classic beverages.” In addition to drinks, the restaurant serves a unique take on modern Asian tapas. The restaurant offers a wide array of dishes that combine flavors from Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean.
The Moderne uses 1930s ArtModerne-inspired themes throughout the restaurant, incorporating bold colors, geometry, and design elements.
The new business joins a growing list of businesses that have opened their doors in the Mills 50 District recently.
In October, Framework Craft Coffee House opened a new location at 1201 N Mills Avenue. In May, Plantees opened a new vegan burger and shake location at 1030 N Mills Avenue. Additionally, Pigzilla, a pizzeria being developed by the owner of Pig Floyd’s Urban Barbakoa, is currently under construction nearby.
The Moderne is open seven days a week, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., staying open an extra hour until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
