Witness in connection with woman's death in Apopka

A woman’s body was found behind a dumpster in a shopping plaza along SR 436 and police are looking to identify a potential witness.

Apopka Police Department officers were called to the back of a group of businesses at the Wekiva Riverwalk Plaza (2167 East Semoran Boulevard) on Sunday, May 7, at around 8:49 p.m.

Upon arrival, police located a deceased white female behind a dumpster. Authorities believe the woman’s death occurred at another location before she was dropped off behind the dumpster.

The Apopka Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office are currently investigating the woman’s death and do not believe there is any risk to the public.

The family of the woman has invoked Marsy’s Law, which means that her name will not be released to the public.

According to police, the man featured in this story is a potential witness who may have seen what happened.
