A 49-year-old man will spend the next 15 years behind bars for selling over 200 grams of methamphetamine and a firearm to an undercover detective from the St. Cloud Police Department.

Robert J. Potocnack was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Paul G. Byron for possessing with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.

Potocnack, who pled guilty to the charges this past May, attempted to sell 224 grams of methamphetamine and a firearm to an undercover detective of the St. Cloud Police Department in November 2022, according to court records.

During the same time period, Potocnack also sold a firearm in conjunction with methamphetamine to the same undercover detective.

Despite facing the possibility of life in prison, Potocnack received the mandatory minimum sentence for each of his charges.
